Senior Nutrition Senior Meals The Senior Nutrition Program provides a nutritious noontime meal along with socialization, Monday through Friday in Helena, Augusta, Lincoln, Townsend, and Whitehall. In Boulder, meals are served on Tuesday and Thursday. In East Helena, meals are served on Wednesday and Friday. Meals are held in each community's senior center. There is a minimal suggested donation for meals and the only requirement is that individuals be 60 and older. Each year, about 50,000 meals are served in community Senior Centers to approximately 1,000 individuals through RMDC's senior nutrition programs. July 2008 Helena Senior Center Daily Dinner Club Menu Meals on Wheels RMDC helps approximately 500 seniors each year maintain independent living through the Meals on Wheels program. Hot, nutritious meals are delivered Monday through Friday to seniors 60 and over who are homebound because of a disabling physical, emotional, or environmental condition. Meals on Wheels operates in Helena, East Helena, Augusta, Lincoln, Townsend, and Whitehall. Delivery in Boulder is available on Tuesday and Thursday. The RMDC Meals on Wheels program distributes 45,000 meals per year. This is just one way RMDC helps seniors stay in the home of their choice.
Food Commodities Through the Commodity Supplemental Food Program(CSFP), senior citizens can receive a free food distribution. Our hope is that by providing food seniors normally have to purchase, they will have extra funds to help with prescriptions or other necessary expenses. Additionally, the food provided gives seniors a chance to supplement their diet with nutrients they might not otherwise get. At the same time, seniors also get some nutrition education information. In order to be a part of the food distribution, one needs to be a resident of Montana, over 60 years old, and meet an income requirement.

Since 2003, Dan and Pam Prebil, Kleen-King owners (Helena), have supported Meals on Wheels by financially sponsoring one home-delivered meal per residential carpet cleaning job. "We just like to help support the community, and feel strongly that Meals on Wheels is worth a little extra attention", stated Pam Prebil.
