Emergency Shelter Grant Program

RMDC receives a small allocation of grant funds from the federal Department of Housing and Urban Development (HUD).

These funds are used to:

• maintain local shelter programs;
• assist essential homeless assistance service providers;
• help prevent homelessness; and
• assist in the rehabilitation of facilities into shelters.

RMDC ordinarily transfers these funds to partner organizations that provide direct service to people who are homeless.
