Rocky Mountain Preschool

Rocky Mountain Preschool is an all-day year-round early childhood program that provides a quality, affordable preschool experience to children ages 2 1/2 to 6.

While not an official Montessori School, Rocky Mountain Preschool’s programs are based on the philosophy and teachings of Dr. Maria Montessori. She believed that "the child who does not do, does not know how to do."

The Preschool program balances the child's developmental need for freedom within limits with carefully prepared class-work materials and experiences. As a result, the child develops intellectual, physical, and psychological abilities.

Staffing consists of a Program Director who is also a lead teacher, an additional lead teacher, four assistants, and Foster Grandparent Volunteers. In total, the staff has over 40 years combined experience working with small children.

Each year, Rocky Mountain Preschool teaches about 60 Helena children how to learn for themselves in a safe, clean, nurturing environment.
