Rodney Applegate has been promoted to Senior Services Program Director at Rocky Mountain Development Council, Inc. (Rocky). He will be managing two programs; Senior Nutrition and Transportation, and Area IV Agency on Aging. These programs are committed to aiding seniors as they navigate through their most challenging years. Senior Nutrition and Transportation extends across the Tri-county area in forms of services such as Meals on Wheels, lunches at local and rural Senior Centers, and Senior Commodities providing bi-monthly allocations of food for income qualified recipients. Area IV Agency on Aging extends beyond the Tri-county area providing advocacy resources to help our senior population make decisions regarding Medicare and Medicaid. Prior to this position, Applegate was a Budget Analyst at Rocky.

A native of Helena, Applegate graduated from Capital High School in 1978 and earned his Bachelor’s Degree in Business Administration from Carroll College in 1982. Prior to working at Rocky, he worked for AAA Mountain West and Student Assistance Foundation.

Mindy Diehl has been promoted to Senior Corps Program Director at Rocky Mountain Development Council, Inc. (Rocky). She will be overseeing three Senior Corps programs that include Senior Companions, Foster Grandparents, and Retired and Senior Volunteer Program (RSVP). All three programs keep older adults in our community actively engaged through volunteer work while also instilling a sense of worth and belonging. Prior to this position, Diehl was the Senior Companion Program Coordinator at Rocky.

Originally from Wisconsin, Diehl moved to Bozeman in 2004 to attend Montana State University. In 2009, she graduated with her Bachelor’s Degree in Health and Human Services and moved to Helena 2010. She currently sits on the National Senior Corps Association Board. Diehl and her husband, Nick, are part owners of Crooked Furrow Brewing, a new brewery located in Helena on the north side of town.
