For five days out of the week, the Neighborhood Center dining room provides seniors a place to eat a hot and nutritious meal. New chairs and tables will alleviate concerns of stability and sanitation to greatly improve the safety of the dining room. A new oven will preserve Rocky’s ability to prepare the meals, and do so in a more efficient fashion.

The Senior Centers of today serve the dynamic portion of the elder population as vibrant, action-packed areas for wellness, fitness, education, and dining. Beyond a daily lunch, Rocky’s Senior Center offers exercise classes, educational and physical health activities, and most importantly, a safe social environment to avoid isolation. The new tables and chairs will enable the room to be rearranged quickly, safely, and efficiently to better accommodate all the various uses of the Senior Center.

Through your generous support we were able to successfully raise $10,000 for the CHAIRish the Seniors campaign in 2019. The Treacy Foundation will match the $10,000 raised with a $20,000 donation to purchase new chairs, tables, an an oven for the Rocky Senior Center.
